The roots
For as long as I can remember, I always had a dog. I bought my first pedigree German Shepherd dog in 1975 in the province of Drenthe (Netherlands). The dog was then 9 weeks old. Before that, I bought some books like "Opvoeding en africhting van de hond" van Toman (English : Raising and training a dog). Before I read the book, I thought that I would know most of the parts of the upbringing already, but it soon turned out that I didn't. Up till now, I never had any regrets of buying that book and many friends/acquaintances have borrowed it. The book got me interested in working with a dog, which resulted in the fact that I became active in dogtraining. Ik became a member of "De Diensthond" (English : The Patrol Dog).

The Training.
I've been training dogs for about 14 years. The dogs were all German Shepherds or cross bred German Shepherds. Because of my occupation, police officer, I could put working with dogs into practice and demonstrate the benefit of dogs. The last part wasn't necessary for the Chief of Police at the time. He knew how important a dog could be on the job. He gave me, at first the only doghandler, and the dog all the options and facilities to learn more and more. Within a few years we had a dogbrigade, exsisting of 5 doghandlers with dogs. However, because of internal circumstances, the doghandling came to an end, but I would always be the owner of a German Shepherd dog.

Breeding.
As I already mentioned, I always had German Shepherd dogs after training them. However, I didn't have much luck with the health and characters of my last 4 dogs. In just a few years time I had to put 3 dogs to sleep because of malignant tumours. In the month May of the year 2001 I didn't have a dog. I couldn't get used to the fact that there was no dog around. Through friends I ran into a breeder of Longcoated German Shepherds by accident. After a visit to his kennel I was immediately sold. I decided to buy my first Longcoated German Shepherd dog and started breeding. My aim is to breed healthy, well build Longcoated German Shepherd dogs, with an open and friendly character.
